Why do clients need TruPrevent Technologies if they already have an IDS?

Why do clients need TruPrevent Technologies if they already have antivirus protection?
Antiviruses are very effective at detecting and eliminating malicious code that they already know. However, in order to detect it, the antivirus must have the signature of the virus.
